With this wild, Ardbeg-classic Islay Whisky, the traditional distillery captures the impetuous power of the Corryvreckan whirlpool. The original Corryvreckan Islay whiskey is matured in French white oak casks and bottled uncolored and unfiltered. The aromas are quite varied with a good portion of peat, intense spices, and fine citrus.

Tasting Notes
Nose: Intense crisp peat aroma of dug-up earth is accompanied by aromatic smoked eel, subtle floral tones, hints of lemon, and sterile apothecary. The spectacle is framed by the delicate scent of the hayloft. (Diluted with a little water, you get a few more leather aromas and chlorine nuances and push the alcohol scent even further back)
Palate: A mouthful of salty water to start with, then the chunk of peat rolls over the tongue, followed by freshly ground black pepper. (A sip of water in the glass softens the sharpness and makes the texture oilier)
Finish: long, peaty finish accompanied by nuts
