Hints of oak. Complex but finely balanced. Combines the smoothness of our younger whiskies with the greater depth of our older expressions. As part of their standard bottlings, the 17-year-old Glenfarclas is pretty much right in the middle. Between the boisterous youngsters (e.g. the 10-year-old) and the older, settled gentlemen (e.g. the 25-year-old). The aroma profile of the 17-year-old malt can also be seen as a link (in the best sense of the word).

Tasting Notes

Nose: finely balanced scents of ripe fruit, rich tones of sherry, vanilla and caramel toffees, with a gentle breeze of peat smoke in the background
Palate: voluminous with spicy malt notes, sherry nuances, honey and again a breeze of smoke
Finish: silky soft, long finish with a fruity and spicy sherry accent
