Double-aged in port casks, this malt is a tribute to the Scottish merchants who braved the high seas and were instrumental in establishing the port wine trade, shipping it all over the world. ‘Port Ruighe’ (pronounced ‘Portrie’) is the Gaelic name of the once busy trading port on the Isle of Skye. The port finish combines Talisker’s strong, sea-influenced character with the juicy sweetness of ripe berries and thus ensures an outstanding, contrasting taste experience.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Sweet and smoky, like a slowly dying log fire, combined with the richness of ripe plums.
Palate: The initial note of pepper quickly transforms into an earthy flavor all of its own on the tongue. A soft smoky note combines with the aromas of spices and dark fruits.
Finish: long-lasting dry smoke aroma
