Veuve Clicquot surprises us with a whole new version of sparkling wine, called Rich Champagne. The dosage of the extraordinary drop is 60g/l. This characteristic ensures an exciting development of the aromas. The cellar master says about his work: “Sugar in champagne is like spices in recipes: When dosed correctly, it can elicit certain aromas and play with them.” In the history of champagne production, the word “rich” was used to describe wines that were composed sweeter . Old Veuve Clicquot bottles from 1840 contained 150 grams of sugar per liter. In Russia at the time, it was common practice to add sugar to sparkling wine to give it a personal touch.
