Tequila is a distilled alcoholic drink made from the blue agave plant. It is mainly produced in the Mexican regions of Guanajuato, Jalisco, Michoacán, Nayarit, and Tamaulipas. It has been labeled as a symbol of Mexico and has often been associated with extreme indulgence and escapism. Tequila is a type of liquor that must be aged in oak barrels for at least two years. It’s a type of whiskey, bourbon and cognac and is similar to Scotch whiskey, corn whiskey and vodka. Tequila is often drunk straight or on the rocks with a salted rim. Most tequila is rated on the smoothness of its body, and a tequila that has been aging in oak barrels for at least three years will be smoother than one aged less time. Tequilas labeled “100% blue agave” have not been filtered or chemically treated in any way.
There are three basic types of tequila to choose from: Blanco, Reposado, and Anejo. Blanco is clear in color, whereas the other two old varieties contain dried agave in their alcohol and take on a rich color. Reposado is a type of mezcal that is aged without going through filtration and other traditional aging methods. It can be aged for up to one year and sometimes even longer in oak barrels. Tequila can come in many different colors, including amber, orange, light gold and dark brown. Tequila also has a vanilla flavor that’s come from being aged in oak barrels which gives it an aroma like that of bourbon whiskey. Tequila drinks come in two strains, juniper-infused and triple sec-infused. Tequila premixed cocktails typically consist of one part tequila and three parts citrus juice or sour mix. These blends can be mixed with other spirits such as vodka, rum, or gin to make a wide variety of alcohol drinks. The usual ingredients for a tequila cocktail include lime juice and orange juice in equal amounts.
Alcohol has many health benefits and can be used as a natural painkiller. Also, excess alcohol use can lead to the development of liver problems. For this reason, you need to consume alcohol in moderation – so you don’t put your long-term health at risk! Drinking too much can have negative effects on your mental health such as alcoholism, poor sleep & depression. If you consistently drink too much, there is a risk of developing alcohol dependence. There is no known consensus on whether drinking coffee or alcohol is better than drinking only water or not consuming either substance during a workout.
When figuring out how to enjoy your tequila, taste a few.
If you can’t decide what you prefer, ask a friend or check the menu at different bars where they serve the drink. Tequila is enjoyed differently for everyone–you shouldn’t just stick with one type! If you want to sip on some of that tasty booze, it might be best to buy a high-quality one.
If you’re feeling adventurous, try mixing a little Makers Mark with a bottle of water. If you’re buying tequila, you’ll want to be careful because the taste can be very different depending on which one you buy. For example, a tequila that’s been aged for at least 100 days will have a distinctively different taste. If making cocktails with Blanco or Reposado (aged 1-3 months) is what floats your boat, then go. Because it hasn’t been aged, it mixes well and doesn’t overcomplicate the flavor profile of your drink. When you’re ready to branch out, we recommend a Reposado. It’s aged for two to 12 months and has a more robust flavor that can stand up to mixers like ginger ale or club soda. Añejo should be sipped, not mixed. It’s aged for a minimum of one year, so it’s had time to develop a deeper, more nuanced flavor.
If you want a combination of the two, reposado is the way to go. It has enough taste to enjoy but isn’t overwhelming. For example, a tequila sunrise cocktail has more sweetness to it that can overwhelm lesser-tasting spirits like reposado. Syrups and juices give these drinks a sweet taste and will mask any bad flavors, so you never have to worry about your tequila ever tasting old. If you want cocktails that don’t require blending, blanco is the way to go—it’s not aged.
