The An Oa shows a new, interestingly varied side in the Ardbeg profile. With peat smoke and chocolate cream, the An Oa also beguiles the nose and palate, but brings more fruit and significantly more spice to the glass than, for example, the Ten. Three aromatic casks were used for the An Oa whiskey - slightly burnt oak casks provide spice, Pedro Ximenez casks deliver a filigree sweetness and the bourbon casks perfectly round off the spectrum of aromas.

The marriage took place in the so-called Gathering Fass. In 2019, An Oa really hit the jackpot: The Scotch was awarded gold three times: once as "Best Single Malt NAS", then as "Best Islay Single Malt" and last but not least, gold as best peated whiskey.
