Pastis is a very young, yet very French specialty that – in contrast to many other spirits – wants to be enjoyed ice-cold. Translated, pastis means something like “mixture” – this means a liqueur mixture of aniseed, sugar, fennel seeds, liquorice roots, herbs, water and alcohol. The aroma is extremely spicy and sweet, with anise in particular coming out clearly.
