The Dalmore 18 Years Old Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 43% Vol. 0,7l to Latvia

For 14 years, the Dalmore 18 YO was stored in former American white oak Bourbon casks. After that, it was allowed to mature for 3 years in order to finally perfect it for 1 year in 30-year-old Matusalem Oloroso sherry casks. The Dalmore stag antlers that adorn each bottle date from the late Middle Ages. In 1263, an ancestor of the Mackenzie clan saved the then Scottish king, Alexander III, from a rampaging deer attack. Out of gratitude, the clan was then granted the privilege of using the Twelfth Stag in their coat of arms.

Tasting Notes

Nose: fruity orange peel, lots of sherry, spicy cinnamon, creamy vanilla chocolate
Palate: provocatively powerful and intense, with chocolate, candied fruit, a gently bitter helping of Viennese coffee, nutmeg and cloves
Finish: lingering echoes of cinnamon, oak, cocoa and nutmeg
